SMAN (Surface Manager) is an advanced solution for real-time airport event monitoring and detection. It is designed for airport managers, operational control centres (APOC), and airport service providers looking to optimise traffic management, infrastructure supervision, and runway safety.
Does my airport need ADS-B antennas to install SMAN?
Installing ADS-B antennas is not always necessary to use SMAN. If your control tower already provides ADS-B data, no additional antennas are required. However, if this information is unavailable or insufficient, a single ADS-B antenna may suffice for coverage. We recommend installing two antennas to ensure redundancy in case of signal failure or disruption.
Is SMAN compatible with existing airport systems?
SMAN is fully compatible with major airport information systems (AIS), enabling seamless data synchronisation. Find all the details on the features page.
How does SMAN help comply with Eurocontrol requirements?
SMAN automates the detection of key events, such as block hours (off-block/on-block), and transmits this data in compliance with Eurocontrol requirements. By facilitating real-time information sharing within a CDM (Collaborative Decision Making) framework, SMAN enables airports to meet the criteria necessary to obtain or maintain Eurocontrol certification, while improving coordination and traffic flow at the European level.
